Under the Keyboard tab you have various options. I hope this information will be of some use to others. I reversed that (checked the former, unchecked the latter), and things still seem to not be completely there, but for the most part seem to be working correctly (I cannot rule I searched the internet and there was something about laptop keys that stop working if you keep them pressed for a long time and they had suggested some solutions: Control panel>

As soon as Windows completed configuring the new keyboard for use, both keyboards were functioning properly. I tried restarting this service before trying the second keyboard, but it had not helped. but it process appear again automatically. The reply above worked to an extent but being that I'm using Excel 2007; it was a tad different to get to it. Just unplugged the USB adapter and replugged it in and the keys work normal again. Once I release the key, I can then press down again to get another capital letter.
You may be experiencing this when both programs are running.
