I'm experiencing the same thing as everyone else, though my cooling is pants and I play it for long periods of time.

Once the effect is over, it goes back down to 60. And most games do not handle multiple cores yet. Not saying they're 100% clean as the can of compressed air I used was a complete failure, but there's definitely nothing clogging the ventilation. Unless you're taking your temp readings from an external sensor, they may be flawed. I've not done much research on it myself, but that's what I've been informed.
